Samurai wasp hatching from a stinkbug egg
Переглядів 3 тис.5 років тому
The samurai wasp is a parasitoid wasp species in the family Scelionidae, native to east Asia but now found in Europe and America. It is chiefly known for parasitizing Halyomorpha halys (brown marmorated stink bug). It deposits eggs into the eggs of the stink bug. As the wasp larvae develop, they kill the stink bug eggs. A single adult wasp emerges from each stink bug egg. www.westernexterminato...

Lacrymaria olor is a protozoan, typically 100 micrometres (0.10 mm) long, that is found in freshwater ponds. Its name means "swan tear" in Latin, and refers to its general shape: namely, a teardrop-shaped body with a small "head" at the end of a long slender "neck". The animal is notable for its ability to extend the neck up to 7 times its body length, and manipulate in many directions - even a...
Vorticella, fastest organism on the planet
Переглядів 1,2 тис.7 років тому
Vorticella is considered one of the fastest biological springs on the planet. It is a protozoa and only about 40 micrometers in size. It is able to contract it's stalk in 1/60th of a second. Blink and you'll miss it. Here 3 of them are entangled, triggering them all to contract at the same time. The result is probably the fastest synchronized swimming event ever recorded :)
They have placed these in the jabs 😢
Fun fact: Hydras don't actually possess a mouth orifice. They have to rip their faces open every time they wanna open their mouths to eat, and they simply let their natural healing/regrowing seal up the wound. They can also stretch their bodies around their food, allowing them to swallow things bigger than them whole.
I wonder what will happen if Hydra got to be 1-2 meters tall. Little Shop of Horror! 🤣
❤
That music scared the sh*t out of me more than anything else

Okay what is that black triangular outline kind of thing?
it's called an egg burster! it's used to help the stink bug nymphs break through the egg when they're ready to hatch. in this particular species, the egg bursters attach to the empty egg after they've emerged
